We’re looking for donations of bikes ahead of the Christmas shopping rush.

If you have a bike that’s gathering dust in a shed or that your kids have grown out of, we can give it a new lease of life.

Bikes donated to Lang Toun Cycles are refurbished by trained mechanics and resold at affordable prices. Any bikes that can’t be refurbished are stripped for spare parts for future refurbishments.

Donations help reduce waste by saving bikes from going into landfill, and access to affordable bikes on Kirkcaldy High Street helps more local people get into cycling.

With Christmas quickly approaching, we particularly wants donations of children’s bikes so they can be refurbished and sold over the busy festive period. However, we are happy to accept donations of any bicycles.

We refurbish and carry out full safety checks and offer a quality guarantee on each bike that we sell, so people can be sure they are getting a bike which is great quality as well as good value.

Lang Toun Cycles is a community bike shop in the heart of Kirkcaldy. We offer cycle servicing and repairs, sales of refurbished bikes, new accessories and e-bikes, an electric bike library scheme, bike maintenance training and volunteering opportunities.

The shop is run by Greener Kirkcaldy as a social enterprise, with all profits invested in getting more people in Kirkcaldy cycling. Our team has refurbished nearly 400 bikes since the shop opened in 2019.

We can accept donations at the shop during opening hours, or you can get in touch to arrange a collection.
