Following on from the success of our wonderful e-bike library, where customers can borrow an e-bike for up to a month for free (deposit required), we are now stocking a range of brand new e-bikes for sale.
Forme is a British company based in Derbyshire just a short ride from the Peak District National Park, and they build their bikes with a philosophy of making sure they’re suitable for everything the UK can throw at them. This makes them ideal for the Scottish weather and road conditions. The design team is made up of riders who have competed at national and international level, but more importantly are passionate about making cycling accessible for everyone and this carries though to their excellently priced range of e-bikes, all named after places in the Peak District.
They are also firm believers in supporting local bike shops, which is why you won’t see these bikes online with faceless distributors. Forme know how getting the right bike for you is important which is why they trust the knowledge of bike shops where staff are seasoned cyclists themselves. Similarly, everyone at Lang Toun Cycles comes from a cycling or active travel background, so we can support your cycling journey every step of way.
The shop is open to the public from 10am to 5pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
(Tuesday and Wednesday we are fixing stuff, and Sunday and Monday we are usually out on our own bikes!)

The Sterndale is the ideal all-round commuter for tracks and light trails as well as road use. It is fitted with a Bafang 250w motor, 420wh battery (approx. 45 miles*), Microshift 7 speed transmission, hydraulic brakes, 27.5″ wheels and front suspension.
Simple 3-way folding e-bike which is ideal for commuting as you can take it on the train, fold it up under your desk, or store easily in a small home with limited space. Bafang rear hub motor which provides 45Nm of powerful torque supported with 378Wh (10.5Ah) of battery capacity, which can provide a range of up to 45 miles*, up to a maximum speed of 15mph. This model also features a Microshift 7-speed transmission, Schwalbe Marathon tyres for puncture protection and durability, rim brakes, a luggage rack, kickstand and mudguards.
Simple 3-way fold, ideal for commuting or taking with you on holiday in a motorhome or caravan. This model comes in fashionable matt black paintwork, has a Revoshift 6-speed transmission, rim brakes, and would be perfect for riders with only limited storage space at home or work. It also comes with a luggage rack, kickstand and mudguards as standard. With a recharge time of only 3.5 hours, the Forme Buxton Pro E provides a similar 45mile range*.
CROMFORD PRO ELS £1,350
Our most popular seller, this low step Dutch style e-bike will get you around town and between towns. Perfect for a commute, meander through the country lanes or a popping to the shop (or all three and more). It comes with a robust pannier rack which also houses the Phylion 500WH battery, full length mudguards, kickstand and very comfortable upright sit position saddle. It comes in small (16″) and medium (18″) and features a rear hub Bafang motor, Shimano 7-speed gears and Tekto V-brakes.
PEAK TRAIL 2E £2,050
Befang powered mid drive motor balances beautifully in this superb electric assist bike package. This is the one that got the mechanics ears pricked. Hydraulic brakes, downtube battery, 8-speed gears, and what a gorgeous paint!
The battery is an integrated 500WH coupled to a Befang M200 Mid-motor with integrated lights, so you never need to worry if you stay out longer than you intended. It still comes with a rear rack for your commute or shopping, or just those day out extras. Front suspension forks cope with the light trails, cycle paths, country lanes, and city potholes.
